Join us this Saturday, the 23rd of June, for the annual BANG Bike Tour. BANG is the land trust which holds the deed to our land along with four other community gardens in Brooklyn. The leisurely bike ride will take you on a tour of the five gardens in Park Slope and Prospect Heights. Participants are encouraged to stop off and enjoy each garden along the way. It is a great opportunity for members of each garden as well local residents and even visitors to get to know both the other gardens and their members without wondering whether each other garden will be open at the same time. All gardens will be open for the whole duration of the tour.

The weather is currently looking good so it should be a great day. You can start at any garden and a map of the route will be available. All gardens will be open from 11am-2pm on Saturday. Drinks and snacks will also be available for sale at each garden and lunch will be provided at Warren St. Marks Garden from 1-2pm!

Leave your leaves at the garden

Prospect Heights Community Farm will be collecting leaves to be composted and used in the garden. We will be collecting bagged leaves on most Sundays over the next month. Please bring leaves only, no trash or other material.

Once again the Department of Sanitation will not be collecting leaves for composting in Community Board 8 – Prospect Heights and Crown Heights.

To avoid risking your leaves ending up in the landfill, bring them to the garden at one of the following times and we’ll make sure they are put to good use as compost.
