November Leaf Drop

Leaves collected curbside are treated as regular household trash. Don’t waste this precious resource! Keep leaves out of our landfills and help create beautiful compost! The Prospect Heights Community Farm will be accepting bagged, residential leaves* for composting on the following dates:

Prospect Heights Community Farm
St. Marks Avenue, between Vanderbilt and Underhill

Sat. 11/3 12pm to 4pm
Sun. 11/4 12pm to 2pm

Sat. 11/10 10am to 2pm
Sun. 11/11 10am to 2pm

Sat. 11/17 10am to 2pm
Sun. 11/18 10am to 2pm

The storm brought down lots of leaves prematurely, and if you’ve been doing any leaf clean up, please don’t let them end up in the landfill, bring them to the Prospect Heights Community Farm on St. Marks Avenue between Vanderbilt and Underhill. We’ll be accepting bags of leaves this weekend as part of our annual Project Leaf Drop initiative.

We will also be available for community composting, if you were planning on bringing your compost to the farmer’s market. GrowNYC has suspended its compost collection for the coming weekend.

Compost Reopened

After a complete overhaul of our composting system, the compost system has now been reopened for collection. A big well done to the compost team and all those who worked on the rebuild.

If you’d like to drop of your compostable waste, garden members can do so at any time. Non-garden members can do so during any garden open hours. See the side bar on the right for details.
